The WEPA Group, one of Europe’s three largest manufacturers of hygiene paper products, and MPH1865, a leading French manufacturer of hygiene paper products and soaps for the out-of-home market, are planning to join forces. The WEPA Group intends to acquire a majority stake in MPH1865.

« We are delighted to continue our development in France and to deepen Franco-German cooperation. As family-owned companies, MPH1865 and WEPA share the same values and a long-term vision that transcends generations. It’s a natural partnership. »

Andreas Krengel, Chief Commercial Officer of the WEPA Group
The aim is to continue the internationalisation of WEPA’s presence in Europe in the out-of-home hygiene market and to better meet the expectations of customers and markets. The finalisation of the transaction remains subject to obtaining all necessary approvals, in particular those relating to merger control.

This proposed acquisition is a long-term strategic step for both companies, as combining their strengths should enable international growth and strengthen their position in the French professional hygiene market.

WEPA and MPH1865 are both family-owned companies and share strong values: operational excellence, local production, employee commitment, customer focus and sustainability.
This transaction will combine the strengths of both companies for the benefit of customers, employees and the entire industry. Customers and partners, both in France and internationally, will benefit from a stronger presence in the French professional market, a broad portfolio of hygiene solutions and a high level of quality, service and environmental performance maintained over time.

MPH1865’s network of industrial sites will be fully retained and strengthened, and the entire workforce will be retained. Marc Miribel will remain Chairman of the company, whose headquarters will remain in France.
« This partnership is a key step in securing the future of our company. It will enable us to strengthen local production, secure industrial capacity and continue to develop the professional hygiene market in France, while benefiting from the WEPA Group’s experience and European network. »

Marc Miribel, Chief Executive Officer of MPH1865
