Eco-design and circularity

Understand the carbon footprint of wiping products

The carbon footprint of a product (PCF) provides information about the product’s impact on climate change through its associated emissions.
The analysis of our hand towels’ carbon footprint is conformable to the calculations of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. It is a international framework which is acknowledged to measure and manage greenhouse gas emissions.

Our environmental action plan

Reducing the footprint on natural resources

We are committed to using certified fibers and increasing
the share of recycled materials in our products.
This helps conserve natural resources and reduce
dependence on virgin raw materials.

Use of carbon-free energy

By using energy sources with the lowest possible carbon rate,
we thus reduce gas emissions greenhouse effect associated with production.

Reducing our water consumption

By improving our production methods, we have reduced
our water consumption by 50% between 2012 and 2023.
By reactivating a dam which now offers us
a reserve of 55,000 m³ of water,
27% of our water consumption now comes from rainwater.

Process Improvement

By making production processes less energy intensive,
we reduce our overall energy footprint,
thus contributing to greater efficiency energy Made in France.

Optimization of the size
of formats and packaging

En By adjusting the size of the products, we reduce
waste and improve the efficiency of the materials used.

Optimisation de la taille
des formats et conditionnements

En ajustant la taille des produits, nous réduisons
les déchets et améliorons l’efficacité des matériaux utilisés.

Eco-designed distribution systems

By adjusting the size of products, we reduce
waste and improve the efficiency of the materials used.

Establishing a circularity service

By developing a service which allows used hand towels to be reused,
the “Renovelar Tissue Circle”, we transform waste
into resources and promoting a circular economy.

Product carbon footprint

The analyses and studies conducted by MPH1865 have revealed the need to adopt smart deconsumption, focusing on the carbon footprint per sheet rather than a measure per kilogram. This more holistic approach allows for the assessment of the environmental impact of products throughout their life cycle.

Hand towel roll 150m Renovelar 2 x 16 grams with a 21 cm perforation

Hand towel roll 150m standard 2 x 19 grams with a 25 cm perforation

Transparent product labeling: impact indicator®

The impact indicator® is a major innovation in environmental management. It clearly displays the carbon footprint of products, enabling users to measure and reduce their ecological impact (carbon footprint assessment, carbon footprint).
The transition toward the deconsumption of our products and processes isn’t only an environmental necessity but also a legal and economical imperative.

On average, Renovelar products generate 40% less CO2 per sheet than products from other European manufacturers.
