Environmental commitment

Our commitment toward a greener and more responsible industry isn’t just a meaningless point in our strategic roadmap: it is part of our DNA. We believe in the possibility of a more virtuous model where smart deconsumption and balanced management of resources shall prevail. That is why we have established a concrete and ambitious action plan that covers all of our activities aiming toward a simple objective: offer a more sustainable future for the next coming generations.

The objective of sustainable development

MPH1865 places the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations in the heart of its CSR strategy. These objectives guiding all of our actions and investments represent a guideline to protect the planet, eradicate poverty and ensure a sustainable future.
As a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact, we affirm our commitment to respect these fundamental principles regarding human rights, international work regulations, the environment and the fight against corruption.

The transition toward the deconsumption of our products and processes isn’t just a environmental requirement: it is also an impeding legal and economical obligation.
This is why we have conducted a full audit of our carbon footprint by following the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) guidelines with the support from ClimatePartner in this process. Our commitment leads each step of our transformation toward a sustainable production which is also respectful of the planet.

Product carbon footprint

The analyses and studies conducted by MPH1865 have revealed the need to adopt smart deconsumption, focusing on the carbon footprint per sheet rather than a measure per kilogram. This more holistic approach allows for the assessment of the environmental impact of products throughout their life cycle.
Thanks to our innovative range Renovelar, we managed to reduce the carbon footprint per sheet of our hand towel by 40% compared to the European market standards. This achievement relies on a rigorous eco-design approach and targeted improvements through each step of the product’s life cycle.

The responsible purchases policy

Since we know our impact regarding social and environmental responsibility doesn’t entirely depends on our own activities, we make a point of conducting a responsible and ethical purchases policy. Each of our suppliers signs and commits to this policy.
Thus, we are constantly refining our selection criteria to ensure our partners are committed to respecting human rights and environment, in particular by assessing the safety of their processes and the third-party certifications they hold.

Energy

Energy is an essential lever to reduce our carbon footprint and optimise our industrial processes. MPH1865 has adopted a proactive approach by investing in technologies that improve the energy efficiency of our operations, such as electrical hosts and new generation burners. This initiatives take part in a global strategy aiming to reduce footprints and enhance our environmental performance.
Our Pupil site, which is ISO 50001 certified, illustrates our commitment for the implementation of an effective energy management system. By taking advantage of the French electricity mix low carbon impact, we are contributing for a sustainable production that is aligned with our carbon neutrality objectives.

Water management

Water management is at the heart of our environmental approach. By investing in innovative infrastructures and sustainable solutions, MPH1865 is ensured to use this precious resource in a responsible way. The Vidalon dam, which was reactivated in Davézieux, embodies this vision by providing a renewable and local water source for our activities. Furthermore, our constant efforts to reduce consumption and treat used water demonstrates our ambition to combine performing production and environmental compliance.
Our objective? Continue to innovate in order to reduce our water footprint even more, but also contribute in the conservation of resources for future generations.
